Sex Workers in Kano Ask to Pause Protests Due to Low Business

Sex workers in Kano are asking protest organizers to stop and talk to the government. They say the ongoing protests have severely affected their work, leaving them without customers and struggling to make ends meet.

Monica James, who works on France Road, said she hasn’t eaten in two days because of the curfew and the lack of clients. She and others are urging the organizers to end the protests and negotiate with the government to restore normalcy.

Several sex workers, including Deborah Iliya from Yoruba Road and Hannatu Ibrahim from Weather Head, echoed these concerns. They noted that violence and disruption from the protests have harmed their business and made it difficult to find customers. Some workers have had to share rooms due to low demand. They are calling for a relaxation of the curfew to help them return to their regular work
