A fire broke out early this morning at a seven-storey building on Sanni Adewale Street, Lagos Island. The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service received the emergency call at 5:17 AM and quickly responded, arriving at the scene by 5:33 AM. Firefighters from Ebute Elefun, Sari, and Lekki 1 stations worked together to contain the blaze.
According to the Fire Service Director, Margaret Adeseye, the fire is now under control and no casualties have been reported. The fire damaged several shops, and initial investigations suggest it was caused by an electrical surge. Ventilation efforts are ongoing to ensure the safety of the surrounding area.
