Jennifer Lopez has filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, marking the end of their second attempt at marriage. The split comes two years after they reignited their relationship and tied the knot.
Lopez, 55, filed divorce papers at a Los Angeles court on Tuesday, according to reports from Variety and TMZ. Neither Lopez’s representative nor Affleck’s publicist has commented on the filing.
The couple, known as “Bennifer” during their first relationship in the early 2000s, reunited almost two decades later. They got engaged in April 2022 and married in a Las Vegas ceremony in July, followed by a grand celebration at Affleck’s estate in Georgia.
Recent reports suggested marital issues, with Lopez celebrating her 55th birthday alone and the couple reportedly selling their joint home. The divorce papers list their separation date as April 26, 2024, with claims of strained relations due to their differing public personas.
This was Lopez’s fourth marriage and Affleck’s second.
