The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reaffirmed its decision to deny admission to candidates below 16 years of age for the 2024/2025 academic session. This decision aligns with the directive from the Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, who emphasized the need for stricter age requirements in the admission process.
JAMB underscored the importance of maintaining the integrity of the admission process and warned against any attempts to falsify age or admission records. The board highlighted that adhering to the age limit is crucial for ensuring a fair and transparent admission system, which upholds the standards of the education sector.
Starting in 2025, JAMB will further tighten its regulations, only considering candidates aged 18 and above for admission. This new policy aims to promote maturity and readiness among prospective students, ensuring they are adequately prepared for the academic and social challenges of higher education.
