Manchester United faces further injury concerns as Alejandro Garnacho and Noussair Mazraoui have withdrawn from their national teams for the October international fixtures as a precaution.
The club announced the players’ withdrawals on its website. Garnacho was selected for Argentina’s World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela and Bolivia but has been dealing with an issue over the past week. He confirmed on Instagram that he would not be traveling to South America, saying, “I won’t be able to be with the national team but I hope to recover for the next date.”
Mazraoui, who had to leave the match at half-time last week, will also miss representing Morocco during the break.
Additionally, Kobbie Mainoo has withdrawn from the England squad for their Nations League matches due to injury. Mainoo has featured in 10 of England’s 13 outings since his debut in March but will miss these fixtures after being substituted in the first half of the recent match against Tottenham.
Harry Maguire was also forced off in the match against Aston Villa, and an update on his condition is pending.
