The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), with support from the EU-funded Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption (RoLAC II) Programme by International IDEA, has launched a 24/7 Cybercrime Rapid Response Centre (E-CR2C). This initiative is designed to tackle cybercrime threats and incidents in Nigeria. The launch took place during the Cybercrime Prevention Summit on October 22, 2024, uwhich aimed to highlight the importance of using cyber skills for national development.
According to Murkthar Suleiman, Communications Officer of RoLAC II, this summit and the launch of the E-CR2C are key measures in addressing the growing digital challenges of today, while also reinforcing Nigeria’s anti-corruption reforms.
The programme seeks to enhance justice and anti-corruption efforts, reduce gender-based violence, and protect the rights of marginalized groups, including persons with disabilities.
