A Coroner’s Court in Ikorodu, Lagos, has ordered that key witnesses be served through newspapers and social media in the ongoing investigation into the death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad. Witnesses include Naira Marley, Sam Larry, Mohbad’s sister-in-law, nurse, lawyer, and driver. This decision followed a request from Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba.
The court agreed to summon these witnesses after the Aloba family’s legal team argued that their testimonies are vital to uncovering the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death on September 12, 2023. Earlier attempts to reach these witnesses had failed, prompting the use of public announcements.
Additionally, the court granted a request to recall Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi, and the investigating officer, ASP Muhammad Yusuf, to clarify new issues. Mohbad’s death has caused public outcry, leading to an ongoing investigation by a special police team and the arrest of Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and others.
