A cholera outbreak in Yola-North Local Government Area, Adamawa State. The outbreak, affecting Alkalawa, Ajiya, and Limawa wards, is thought to be caused by contaminated water sources and recent flooding.
Council Chairman Jibrin Ibrahim reported that initial cases quickly surged from 20 to 40. Health workers, the Red Cross, and international partners have been praised for their swift response in managing the situation and stabilizing many patients.
Ibrahim urged the public to maintain clean environments, ensure access to potable water, and thoroughly wash fruits and vegetables to help prevent further spread of the disease.
