Nigerian Olympian Echikunwoke Wins Silver for USA

Annette Echikunwoke, a former Nigerian hammer thrower and African record holder, has won an Olympic silver medal for the United States in the women’s hammer throw. The 28-year-old achieved a season’s best throw of 75.48 meters to secure the second place.

Echikunwoke finished behind Canada’s Camryn Rodgers, who won gold with a throw of 76.79 meters. This remarkable achievement marks a significant milestone in Echikunwoke’s career, showcasing her talent on the global stage for her adopted country.
