The North-East Development Commission (NEDC) has provided 200,000 bags of rice and other essential supplies, including spaghetti, mosquito nets, and mats, to flood victims across Borno, Adamawa, Yobe, Gombe, Bauchi, and Taraba.
NEDC’s Managing Director, Mohammed Alkali, presented the items during a ceremony in Maiduguri on Wednesday. The aid package also includes 150,000 cartons of spaghetti, 250,000 gallons of vegetable oil, and clothing materials. Local lawmakers will help distribute the items to ensure fairness.
Mr. Alkali emphasized that the support is part of immediate measures to assist those affected by the floods, with long-term plans to follow.
