Eguavoen Resigns as Super Eagles Interim Coach After Rwanda Match

Augustine Eguavoen has stepped down as the interim coach of the Super Eagles following their recent draw against Rwanda. Eguavoen was brought in to temporarily lead the team after efforts to hire a permanent head coach fell through.

Eguavoen, who also serves as the technical director of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), clarified that his role was only for two matches. After completing his mandate, he decided to step aside, allowing the NFF to continue their search for a permanent coach.

Despite the challenges, Eguavoen expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to manage the Super Eagles again. His departure leaves the team awaiting further leadership as they prepare for future competitions.
