WHO Finds No Link Between Smartphones and Brain Cancer

The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced that recent research shows no link between smartphone use and brain cancer. This conclusion is based on a comprehensive analysis of studies conducted from 1994 to 2022. Despite past concerns about radiation from mobile devices potentially causing cancer, the latest findings reveal that the incidence of brain cancer has not increased alongside the rise in cellphone use.

The study, involving 11 researchers from 10 countries, reviewed 63 research papers and found no connection between cellphone use and cancers such as brain tumors, salivary gland tumors, or leukemia. Even long-term and heavy cellphone users did not show increased cancer risks. The WHO and other health organizations have previously stated that there is insufficient evidence to link mobile phone radiation to health risks but have called for continued research.
