The Israeli army announced early Wednesday that it was conducting an operation aimed at stopping terrorism in the northern West Bank, specifically in Jenin and Tulkarm. According to the Red Crescent, at least 10 Palestinians were killed during Israeli raids and airstrikes in several towns in the area.
The Red Crescent’s Ahmed Jibril reported that two Palestinians were killed in Jenin, four in a nearby village, and four more in a refugee camp near Tubas. Additionally, 15 others were injured during the strikes. The Israeli operation comes two days after an air strike in the West Bank, which the Palestinian Authority said killed five people.
Violence in the West Bank has intensified alongside the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Since Hamas’s attack on October 7, more than 640 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces and settlers, while at least 19 Israelis have been killed in Palestinian attacks during the same period, according to official sources.
