Arsenal’s pursuit of Ademola Lookman has gained momentum after PSG backed out of negotiations due to Atalanta’s high asking price, according to transfer expert Florian Plettenberg. The Nigerian forward is still keen on joining PSG, but the deal has stalled, creating opportunities for other interested clubs.
While PSG remains Lookman’s preferred destination, a move to Paris now looks unlikely. Arsenal, who have been monitoring the situation closely, hope to capitalize on the delay and secure the forward for a reported fee of £51m. Lookman’s agent also represents Kai Havertz, which could work in Arsenal’s favor during negotiations.
Since joining Atalanta in 2022, Lookman has made a strong impact with 24 goals in 62 matches. He became a cult hero in Bergamo after scoring a hat-trick in the Europa League final, helping Atalanta secure their first-ever European title.
