The family of the late singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, known as Mohbad, has asked individuals and organizations to suspend plans for celebrating the first anniversary of his death. In a statement signed by Monisola Odumosu from the family’s legal team, the Aloba family expressed their wish to mourn their son in peace, without large public events that could stir their emotions.
The family also raised concerns about potential commercial exploitation of Mohbad’s memory and requested that anyone planning events seek approval from them first. They emphasized that Mohbad has not yet been buried and would prefer the public to join them in prayers rather than organizing elaborate celebrations.
Mohbad, a former Marlian Music artist, passed away on September 12 at 27 years old, sparking widespread controversy. The Lagos State Police have since launched a special investigation into his death, with ongoing efforts to uncover the cause.
